By repeat offenses to the Holy Name of the Lord, one loses his taste for chanting. Such a devotee doesn’t associate with the devotees for the purpose of increasing his attraction for chanting, and by those offenses, gradually he may give up the chanting of the Holy Name of the Lord. There is no purpose! “Why am I chanting? There are so many more important things to do than chanting!” Then, what happens is that one falls into the materialistic conception of life.
