Niranjana Swami's Quote Of The Day

April 2

It is a heavy burden, but it’s a burden that one must accept. Because the disciple is thinking how to relieve the burden of the spiritual master, he is thinking “My spiritual master has accepted such a great burden,to take responsibility for so many conditioned souls to bring them back to Godhead.” So the disciple is thinking “Let me relieve his burden.” Disciple therefore prays for the spiritual master “let me always be qualified” so that he does not become a burden on the spiritual master, but he helps relieve the burden of the spiritual master by accepting responsibility for other conditional souls.

Krishna is like sunshine and maya is like darkness. Because maya always thinks herself as Krishna's servant, she wont stand in front of Krishna. If Krishna is there, she always stands behind. This is proper etiquette.

A devotee feels fully satisfied with service itself, and therefore that is how the devotee is always feeling maintained by Krishna. And therefore he accepts whatever Krishna gives him to use for his service favorably. And if Krishna doesn't give it, the devotee thinks "I don't need it". This is how he is thinking. He is fully satisfied.

One who is in Krishna consciousness, he knows he doesn’t change. I am serving Krishna now and I am serving Krishna now, and I am continuing to serve Krishna from one moment to the next. He has transcended the material world. He serves Krishna in the continual present. He has transcended time. So therefore what is this death? Death means an end, but there is no beginning and end where there is no time. Just as there is no beginning, there is no end. So one who actually comes to Krishna consciousness, he has realized, “what is this death?” He is realized. There is no such state as death. There is no death for the soul. That’s only for the body. For the soul there is no death. So this is dhira.

The problem is that without sufficient realization of Krishna, we cannot trust anyone who appears to either need us or want us. The long chain of exploitation is carried from one experience to the next in this material world. Frustration goes deep, and we can easily turn towards impersonalism if we are not careful. Our only choice is to turn to Krishna.

When a devotee sees something, he thinks “let me offer it to Krishna”; the non-devotee thinks “let me enjoy it”.

Govardhana provides different streams of fresh water for Krishna and the cowherd boys to wash their hands and feet, to take their bath, provides different caves for cowherd boys to go in during the day, nice cool caves where they can get relief from the hot sun. The caves also provide relief from the cold when it’s cold out, and so many different minerals which are used to decorate the bodies of Krishna and the cowherd boys. Govardhana hill provides wonderful fresh grass for Krishna's cows. So in this way Govardhana hill is actually serving the Lord. Therefore he is Haridasa Varya.

March 26

There are two purposes of this material world. One purpose is to provide the living entities the opportunity to imitate Krishna and to think that they are independent from God and the other purpose is to provide a means by which the living entities can go back home, back to Godhead. Both of these purposes exist simultaneously.

Krishna has unlimited eternal associates. Some associate with Him as a friend, some associate with Him as a servant, some associate with Him in parental affection. These are also designations of the soul, but such designations are not material, because that designation is in relationship with Krishna.

When one actually comes to this platform of never being able to forget Krishna for a moment, then such a person is already delivered. He doesn’t have to wait to be delivered. He’s already delivered because of his full devotion to Krishna.
