Sanatana dharma means to capture, even for a moment, within the core of our heart that "My existence is meant for pleasing the Lord. Even if it means that I have to suffer. Even if it means that my pleasure will not be fulfilled." When a devotee actually thinks like this, even for a moment, the Lord becomes so pleased. Devotional service begins by such a thought:. "What can I do to satisfy the senses of The Lord?"

The desire to satisfy the Lord is the highest ecstasy. It brings the highest pleasure, the highest satisfaction in itself. That means that one gives up all kinds of personally motivated or selfish desires and thinks exclusively of the pleasure of the Lord. This type of personal service to the Lord makes it very easy for the devotee to make progress. Why? Because Krishna helps.

It is the spiritual master's duty to train his disciples, and humility and pridelessness are the ornaments of all Gaudiya Vaishnavas. We should not tire of hearing these topics. In fact, only by hearing these topics in relation to the eternal associates of Lord Caitanya can we become qualified to enter into and understand the pastimes of Radha and Krishna in Vrindavana. Without humility we will never be allowed entrance.

When the Lord gives His heart, the fear of the loss of our attachments will never again enter our hearts. Whether we live or die becomes irrelevant, because we will possess the greatest attachment for all of eternity - love for Krishna. Nobody will ever take that away.

One has to receive the Holy Name from the proper source, and then by receiving the Holy Name from the proper source, the potency to chant the Holy Name of the Lord purely is impregnated within the Holy Name. Although Krishna appears in His Holy Name and invests all His potencies in His Holy Name, nonetheless He has to agree to appear within that Name.

Not all medicines that do not taste good are the right medicine. Just like sometimes persons would undergo great austerities to become wealthy. The austerity doesn't taste very good, but they think that is the medicine to cure their condition, but all it does, it increases the disease.
